Adventure Anywhere / Driving the Cabot Trail

I've read a few posts about the Cabot Trail but nobody mentioned the road. Can anyone can give me some information about actually driving this twisty road. We're driving a PC 31, towing a jeep and I'm just wondering whether it would be better to leave the rig at a campground and just take the Jeep to make the drive around the top of the trail, returning back the same way we came.
