General Discussion / Re: Outside bay clip removal & replacement

Most RV accessories such as the hatch clips are installed using screws that use a #2 square drive.  Drivers look like a screwdriver but with a square tip and are available at Harbor Freight, Home Depot, Lowe’s, etc.

We had the same problem on our 2014. 2100 (no slide) after only a year or so. The problem is corrosion inside the switch,  Turning the plunger makes you feel better but has no effect,  Adjusting the plunger moves the contact surface to a cleaner area but is only a temporary solution.  Eventually the corrosion will move to the 'clean' area of the contacts.

I got a new switch from Kermit and installed it and covered the exposed switch and wires with a healthy dose of spray 'flex-seal'.  No problem since then -   4 years plus,  Took the old switch apart and cleaned the contacts and carry it as a spare. -  although it would be messy to replace it through all of the 'flex-seal.

Tips and Tricks / Re: Side window visors for a 2018 E-450

I have found the brand of visor from AUTO VENTSHADE has visors for just about any vehicle..  Just enter the make and model of your vehicle.  I have them on all my vehicles including our 2014 PC model 2100 and love them.

General Discussion / Re: Front Seat Upholstery

We have never used any type of cleaning product on these seats.  The cracking is in random locations -  one armrest, one head rest, the side of one seat, etc.  It is. A puzzlement...!

General Discussion / Front Seat Upholstery

I have seen entries on this topic before but am unable to find the right search words to access previous discussions.

We have a 2014 model 2100 (no slide) purchased new.  The driver and passenger seat upholstery is a ‘leather’ look-alike made by Halo Services.  The surface is starting to check and crack and even flake-off.  Unit is stored under cover outside.

Is there any treatment that will slow or stop this process?  (Wishful thinking?). Alternatively, when the seats were re-upholstered, what fabric product was used and how has it held up?

Situation is not ‘critical’  -  just want to stay ahead of the game.

Thanks

Garmp -  We had the safe-t-plus steering stabilizer installed on our 2100 and it seemed to be an improvement over the factory stabilizer.  However, make sure that the front end is properly aligned first.  Our 2100 was a handful on the interstate until the alignment was done.

When you have the alignment done your unit should be loaded for travel -  full fuel, water, clothes, tools, and other stuff you would normally carry.

Once the alignment was done and the stabilizer installed our 2100 is a real pussy-cat under almost all but three most extreme driving conditions.

Grampian --

The 2100....   You'll love it!  We think it is the perfect 2 people motor home.  Our 2100 doesn't have a slide and there is plenty of room for two with all of the amenities of home.  Enjoy....!

Hi Ron --

The no-slide version of the 2100 has the dinette and sofa reversed from the floor plan shown on the web site.  The primary sleeping area is the jack-knife sofa behind the passenger seat.  The size is bigger than a single bed and slightly narrower than a double bed.  It's cozy for two and works well for us.  When the sofa is folded out there is about 6 inches between the sofa/bed and the dinette -- just enough room to 'skinny' from the wardrobe area to the cab area.  This space is also convenient for getting up in the middle of the night for a 'head call.'

With the sofa folded out there is also a space of 4 inches or so between the bed and the outside wall.  We fill this with a loooong round bolster / pillow that works very well.

We added a hatch under the passenger side window ( approx 15 X 30 ) for access to the space under the sofa from the outside.

The dinette is smaller than on some of the larger units but very comfortable for us and has full storage under each of the seats.  If we have guests it is very convenient to have 2 or 3 at the dinette and the others seated close at hand on the sofa.

Will try to get photos  soon.

Garmp

We highly recommend the 2100....  Fits anywhere and perfect for two people.  Our 2100 is the no slide version with a hatch for access to the storage under the fold-out sofa.  The outside outlet is conveniently located just forward of the entry door.

Can you share the details on your modification to the Fantastic Fan that allows for bi-directional operation?  That would seem to make it more comparable to the Maxxair.

Thanks

Our 2014 2100 has the Southco latch on the stowaway screen door..  Maybe it was a leftover...
