We have 2004 2550 (no longer made) and have encountered a problem with propane water heater. The heater has worked well befor but after washing the coach, the burner would no longer light. It attempted to light. How can I test the control board or do I just need to buy a new one, and if so, which one is currently used in the new coaches.  Since the burner would not light (but did make clicking sounds and release gas), my husband attempted to trace the electrical problem,  and clean the burner, but now the heater does not attempt to light at alL.  A new water heater unit seems very expensive!

I wish I had that manual one, ours is horrible, small, and has no numbers, just lines! Thanks for the photo! By the way, my hubs followed your lead and changed out some of our lights to LED just as you did, perfect!

My 2004 2550 cruiser has old-school hard to use manual thermostat on/off furnace controller with TINY plastic tab to turn on or off. I think newer models have digital therms. Has anyone successfully swapped out the old unit?

General Discussion / Re: Queen bed/sofa slide - sheets?
« on: September 20, 2016, 11:02:26 pm »
Thanks! Great info. We are THINKING OF UNBOLTING THE BED/couch, moving it forward into the aisle abou 2-3 inches, removing stapled panel, enlarging it and re-stapling it so that too tall hubs' feet don't hang over the foot of the bed, lol. Might also put a couple hooks on inside corner of metal frame at head of bed corners so that I can clip sheets to those, love my real sheets!

General Discussion / Electric sofa bed replacement
« on: September 18, 2016, 07:45:10 pm »
I have a 2004 Phoenix cruiser model 2550 (no longer available)! It has a rear bath, kitchen with fixed dinette, and it is wonderful except..... There is a "bedroom" between the galley and the rear bath, but instead of the present twin bed arrangement, there is a queen size (kinda) electric sofa that converts to a bed in the slide out . The problems with this are: 1. The sofa fabric is old and tired and worn as a couch, and very uncomfortable as a bed. 2. When in the bed position, it is only 72" long, so husband doesn't fit well, lol. 3. Also, it folds out as 4 cushions, one of which is stapled to the slide out wall, making it impossible to use any kind of sheets.

So, wondered if anyone else has dealt with this issue? We bought a memory foam topper, but it must be rolled up and moved to "close" the bed when the slide comes in. Additionally had a minor hick-up when we lost battery power and could not hand-crank the slide in because the electric bed cannot be manually folded. I know this is a long post, but know that somewhere out there is a seasoned cruiser with an answer. We will probably remove the thing, ditch the small joke motor that SLOWLY folds the bed (fingers crossed) and start over. The good news is that There are no vents or ductwork or obstacles under this area! THANK YOU!

Wow, thanks for all the sweet replies. Tomorrow, we are off on our maiden voyage, just a short 2 day trip to find out what falls off, what doesn't work and a little fishing. Going to silver lake, in Eldorado county, California, elevation 7200' one of our favorite places.

Finally done with dinette redo and vinyl flooring, 12 years had taken its toll on our 2004 2550 (model no longer available). We are happy!

General Discussion / Re: Solar panel on 2550
« on: July 28, 2016, 07:22:26 pm »
Thanks Ron, your reply was über helpful! My question was, did I have to take any overt action to employ the benefit of the solar panel, or does it just work automatically, assuming it is in good working order. As I do mostly forest service-type camping, I will soon determine if the solar is working by the condition of the batteries after a couple days of no 110 service. I do not watch tv and use a French press for coffee, so my power use is limited to lights and the water pump.  Thanks again for your quick response to the newb.

Well, my clever husband backed out the rounded screws and counter-sunk some flat head screws in their place. And he has about half the floor done, it looks fabulous! So much nicer than the 12 year old dirty carpet.

General Discussion / Re: Sofa Bed Will Not Extend
« on: July 24, 2016, 07:02:12 pm »
This is a little off your topic, but I wonder if you can share with me whether or not your sofa fabric is stapled to the wall under the slide window? I have a 2004 model 2550 (which is no longer made). Anyway, my question is I cannot put on convential sheets because of the staples holding the couch fabric solid to the wall. Thanks for your input!

General Discussion / Queen bed/sofa slide - sheets?

It's me again, with MORE questions. I went in my cruiser to put a fitted bottom sheet on the bed and I found that the head of the bed upholstery is stapled to the slide out wall. This makes it impossible to put on the sheet? What would happen if took out this row of staples so that the sheet would fit? My plan was to make a custom sheet, just the right size and leave it on most of the time, when the bed is made up as a bed and when it is in the couch position. The original 12 year old upholstery is very worn and stained. Any sage advice is most appreciated, thank you!
