General Discussion / Re: Ford E450 dash power ponts blow fuses

Well the polarity was reversed.  The harness was plug and play but when they reassembled the dash the wire pins were reversed for both power ports in the dash.  $125 - Phoenix is supposed to send me a check.

Thanks for the help.  My biggest issue is the 3 words I fear most: "Some assembly required."  I would like to try and fix it myself

I was however, a couple of days ago, to recalibrate the 50 Amp surge protector that kept tripping.  Incoming voltage was 128 to 129 and occasionally peaking at 130.  The surge protector was reading it as 133!   With the help of Progressive industries the recalibration fixed the problem,

The nearest campers inn is about 150 miles away.  The guys that built it couldn't resolve the problem.  For RVCamping; what tech are you talking about?  Campers Inn, Ford, Other?

General Discussion / Ford E450 dash power ponts blow fuses
« on: March 04, 2020, 07:42:32 am »
I picked up my new 2552 from the factory on 2/17/20.  When I plugged my Garmin GPS power plug into the power point it blew the fuse in the Garmin charger cord.  It also blew the fused in phone chargers.  I had the guys at the factory trouble shoot this problem but they couldn't solve it.  The fuses in the truck are good and the power points are reading just over 12 V with a multi-meter.

At the factory the guys changed the fuse in the Garmin about 3 times and it blew 3 times.  They suggested getting a new power cord.  I did and verified that it worked in my car just fine.  As soon as I plugged it into the power point on the truck dash, it blew the fuse.  This problem is with all the power ports, the two on the dash and one in the glove compartment.

I assume this will be covered by the Ford warranty but you know what a hassle that can be.  Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Jim

General Discussion / Re: PC 4x4 / Battle Born package options
« on: January 25, 2020, 08:19:01 am »
I don't know about 4x4 but I do know something about the Battle Born batteries. Apparently my new 2552 is in the paint shop due to be delivered 2nd or 3rd week of Feb.  I was informed a couple of months after PC agreed to put 2 batteries under the driver side bed that for legal reasons, they now will not do it.  Apparently, lawyers are concerned that the next owners after me might try to put regular batteries under the bed which is an absolute no no.  The Battle Born batteries were not an option offered to me, but I provided them with the information for what I wanted including Victron products. It remains to be seen if I get exactly what I wanted.  My batteries will be installed in the usual battery bay which will be enclosed and have heat pads.  This is fine for me for now.  My reason for under the bed installation was so it would be easier for me to add additional BB batteries if I wanted. I have 2 solar panels also with a 3000 w inverter.  I had a Truma Aqua Go plus hot water installed as well as the Lagun table option installed with mounts in 3 different locations.  I also opted for a 12V refrigerator ILO of gas/electric. I did order the liquid springs with the safety plus stabilizer so that I can come as close as possible to the drive/ride I had in my Newmar with comfort drive.  This will be my 2nd and last motorhome.  My wife and I traveled full time in our Newmar and loved it.  Unfortunately she died last June.  My plan is to live and travel in the PC full time until I can no longer do so. I want to be sure it's exactly what I want for the way I intend to use it.

Mine will be ready mid-march.  I tell people it's a "C -".  I know there is no such thing anymore than the B+ but I can explain it's a class C without the bunk over the cab; hence, a C minus (the bunk).  Probably best to call it a C at campgrounds so you can get a spot big enough.  My previous coach was a 39" Newmar diesel pusher.
