General Discussion / new 3 way Anderson water valve
« on: June 07, 2019, 06:32:01 pm »
The new 3 way Anderson water valve has the same problem the old valve had in filling up and overflowing the fresh water tank when you are connected to city water or using the water pump, which is the middle setting.  I called Anderson and so far no response.  I purchased and installed the new one last summer and after setting the rv up this month to take off for the summer the fresh water tank once again overflowed.  Anderson is worthless and I assume the new phoenix cruiser owners are aware of this situation.  I have seen no recommendations or answers on this from anyone.  Very frustrating.  I installed a shut off valve on the fill line between the valve and the water tank which is the only answer i could determine but it is a pain.  If you are using city water its ok to shut it off and that solves the overflow issue but if you want to use the fresh  water tank you have to have it on or the water pump will not work.  So you have to pull up the mattress and get to the inside valve area to do this.  Does anyone have a valve that actually works????  I know i am not the only one to have this issue.  Thanks!

General Discussion / Annual Oil change and grease
« on: April 28, 2019, 04:59:37 pm »
The last couple of years i have been changing the oil before we head out for the summer....we don't put many miles on at all.  I know that when service places do oil changes they also use a grease cartridge....my unit is a 2910T with ford e450.  Any advice on the necessity of doing the grease as I am not sure if necessary and if so where to apply it.  Thanks

General Discussion / Surround sound system
« on: August 09, 2018, 12:23:45 pm »
I don’t see much on the surround sound system which in our unit is connected to the blue ray DVD player.  We have a 2015 2910T.  The system works fine with the DVD player but only the DVD player.  Is there an easy way to connect the tv to the surround sound system or is this another yes you can but you have to take down the front tv (samsung) in order to access the back to run wires from the back of the tv to the control panel in the side cabinet next to the tv where the DVD player is connected.

Just like it would have been great to have an easy to access hdmi port from the tv it would have been nice if the tv also had been connected to the surround sound when installed.  I believe its a real pain to take the tv down to access the back.

Thanks!

FYI EEZ tech said ok to wire to 12 volt light in back.  Although it will always be on its minimal draw.  Or on one wire put a toggle switch or quick disconnect to turn off when not traveling.

Perfect thanks!

General Discussion / EEZ Tire Pressure Monitor system wiring question
« on: August 04, 2018, 01:45:36 pm »
Bought the EEZ tire pressure monitor system and its easy to use and seems to work great.  Nice knowing no problems with tire pressure when on the road.  A bit pricey but worth it.  The system does not consistantly show the toad tire pressure so i bought the repeater/extender.  They say to simply wire to a 12 volt source in the back of the rv that will work while driving.  This may be a stupid question but where would that be?  I am assuming maybe the back ceiling light?  Is that in fact 12 volt (we have the led lights on ceiling) that is live while driving?  Or perhaps one of the two small lights over the bed in the back? (We have a 2910T).  If there is someone good with electrical that could answer this it would be greatly appreciated.

General Discussion / Re: LED lights

The touch lights are the ones i am referring to. They are flat very attractive units but they do not stay on. They just turn off sometimes quickly sometimes in a few minutes. The ceiling led lights have two remiveable covers and are not very flat. They also are very touchy and sometimes one side will not work. Taking the cover off and moving the board of lights can get them back on. So neither led light units actually work well.

Thanks Ron.  Isn't what you are recommending for solid form stems what was recommended above, the Borg valves?

General Discussion / Re: four way water valve

Good to know.  Thanks i will contact them.

I don't think the water pump is the issue as the valve is set to city usage.  This time the tank has filled partially so it could be a slow leak but in the past you could hear it flowing into the tank quite fast and overflowing.

General Discussion / LED lights

Has anyone resolved the problem with the LED lights which were installed the past few years?  For those who have them Kermit acknowledged the problem that they do not stay on but will just turn off and sometimes will not then turn back on.  He was supposed to be working with the LED light company that supplied them to fix this issue.  Ours still work at times and then not.
thanks

thanks very much for the information its a great help in deciding what to do.

Do you have a towed vehicle with the tst system and if so did you need the repeater to get the signal enhanced from the towed vehicle.

thanks again

Seems to be a pretty common problem which would be easy enough to fix at the start of a new unit.  Thanks for your comments.
I did just look at the Borg dually units before...am i correct that these actually replace the tire stems so must be put on by a tire company removing the tires to install these units?

General Discussion / four way water valve
« on: June 09, 2018, 07:58:45 pm »
I have gone thru several of these water valves as they have failed and the result is the water tank keeps filling and overflows.  Kermit sent me new valves and said to be sure to turn off the water pressure when changing the settings.  I have done this but it looks like once again the valve has failed so the water tank is filling when attached to city water.  I was going to add a manual turn off valve under the bed to the line coming in to the water tank but seems to me the valve should work properly.  Has anyone else had this issue and resolved it?

thanks much.

General Discussion / TV HDMI connections....front overhead TV
« on: June 09, 2018, 07:55:14 pm »
With changes in watching tv we are no longer using satellite but are going to a roku for internet streaming tv shows.  As such the problem in our 2910T (2015) is that there is one hdmi coming from the front tv thru the right front cabinet and to the dvd player.  You are unable to use the dvd player streaming functions without a wired internet signal (the tv is not internet ready).  So I have taken that hdmi and plugged into a roku player and it works great.  However that means taking out the dvd player or switching back and forth.  It would be great to run another hdmi cable from the back of the tv so that both the roku and dvd player are always available.  The problem is how do you access the back of the tv (which does have a second hdmi input) as the tv is fixed to the front.  I see in the right cabinet next to the tv three screws to i assume open the side panel and gain access to running another hdmi.  However i read a post that those three screws actually hold the tv in place along with three screws in the left cabinet.  Does anyone know how to get access safely to the other hdmi input on the tv.
thanks!
