Tips and Tricks / Re: Ron's Tips For Class C /B+ Shoppers
« on: September 08, 2014, 05:29:54 pm »
Right on Ron:  prior to buying  my Ford PC 2350 last fall, I owned an 06' sprinter RV. I like to do small town and wilderness camping. But try finding a sprinter certified mechanic in even a good size town can be challenging! I didn't mind so much replacing the resonator a couple of times, but when I had to buy a reconditioned transmission, It was the last straw!  Other problems I had: tendency to overheat on mountain passes and using precious propane for the generator. It wasn't worth the better mileage and maneuverability.
So Ron, what's debatable about what you said above? Idling the Ford E350?

Since I'm selling my PC 2350, it doesn't mean I'm unhappy with it.  I just need to get off the road--my aging and problematic bod gets priority.

Other significant options:  hydraulic jacks, electric driver seat, electric awning, Surround sound, double pane windows, fantastic fan roof cover, Sirius satellite radio, Cherry cabinets and ultra leather furniture. Almost brand-new generator has 26 hrs.
Current mileage is 10,512.
Asking price is $71,000 which may be negotiable (as is the OX towing package).

General Discussion / Selling my 2014, 2350 in COLORADO
« on: September 05, 2014, 11:37:01 am »
Even though it's going to be hard to give up this luxurious  motorhome (I love it!), I need to sell it for health reasons.  Though I've been RVing fulltime for 7 years, I need to settle down.  It would be a waste to continue to live in it and not travel.
It's almost one year old with 10,512miles.  Ford E350 with Cafe paint, decor and leatherette.  Fully loaded including, 1 slide with recliners/sofa/bed, Solar system, upgraded AC/heat pump, hydraulic leveling jacks, backup monitor, six way power seat, passengers swivel seat, LED lights etc.
Some things like the cutting board, I've never used!

For a more detailed listing see my ad on rvt.com.

$71,000. Though my research shows that this is a very good price (one reason I'm already getting interest), I may negotiate some. It depends on what happens in the next six weeks.

Ox towbar assembly (top of the line) would be extra.

Since I'm still going to be in Colorado at least for a little while, could someone send me the details on the reunion: location and dates?

Why do you (Barry-Sue) prefer Maxxair over Fantastic fans?
Wouldn't do without my ladder which gives me access to solar panel on roof.

Cutting the sink cover: did some of you cut it in half, i.e. from left to right (or right to left)?

General Discussion / Front tire pressure: New wheels/rims?
« on: June 19, 2014, 06:58:45 pm »
Since it can be challenging to put air in the front tires (2014, 2350), has anyone not only removed the hub caps, but also replaced the wheels/rims with attractive ones (aluminum?) that go well with the rear hub caps?

General Discussion / Tire Pressure: 2014 PC2350 loaded
« on: June 19, 2014, 01:07:00 pm »
Running close to 70 psi in rear tires, 65 in front.  Haven't weighed rig recently but I'm a full timer with lots of extras like solar panel and electronic jacks.  Also have a full booze cabinet and tow a car (Honda CRV, 3400 lbs.).

At what psi do you keep the pressure on your 2350 tires?

General Discussion / Re: Check my understanding of battery voltage status
« on: September 02, 2013, 11:14:49 am »
Re my ordered 2350:  I'm planning use the two Lifeline AGM 6V batteries wired in parallel in my present RV.  Will the battery charger still see them as one battery and will I need to buy a charger specifically for 6V batteries?

I assume the Converter will still function as a 3-stage battery charger (?)

John: noticed you have solar panel on your 2552 (I'm getting one on my ordered 2350).  What is the make and model of your batteries?

Thanks, Ron....after being parkedfor days, how long do you typically have to run the charger?

Also, do you connect the charger to 6 volt batteries wired in series like you would if you were connecting it to a 12 volt battery; i.e.,  negative and positive cables are connected to corresponding terminals and you do that for each battery?

General Discussion / Re: Ron et al: CHARGING BATTERIES when Dry Camping
« on: August 29, 2013, 04:36:22 pm »
Months ago Ron D. posted helpful info on charging low coach batteries, but I can't find it.  I vaguely recall that one way was to use a 40 amp battery charger (?).  If so, don't you have to run the Gen to powerthe charger?

Also, it has been suggested that you could run (idle) the cab engine for charging.  How much time might that require and how does the time compare to Ron's battery charger; and to pluging-in at an RV park?

Although there will a 150 watt solar panel on my ordered 2350, I know how an entertainment sytem (+ an inverter) can  (cheer)drain power at night, in a canyon, and with heavily overcast skies.
