General Discussion / Re: Battery Replacement Info Needed
« on: May 15, 2018, 06:48:30 pm »
OK, now I'm really confused!

I talked to Randy at Best Converter and he said that I have a 50 amp converter instead of a 30 amp.  It's a Parallax series 500, model 555, 55 amp.  I thought this PC was a 30 amp not a 50 amp rig.

He also said that I could go ahead and put the AGMs in and upgrade the converter in a few weeks when I get back home and it wouldn't hurt the batteries.  Sam's club has the "Dexa"(sp?) AGM batteries, but they won't install them.  Trojan's would break the bank!  Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Marcia

Thanks, Jatrax, for your reply.

I have model 555.  It's too old for the Temp Assure, as per Parallax, and it's only a single stage charger.......Although Parallax said that wouldn't make any difference, it's my understanding that you really need a 3 stage charger to do it right with AGM's.

Is that right?

I need to replace coach batteries.  I would like to put in AGMs, but I assume that I can not.  2013 2552 with a Parallax 55 amp converter.  From what I've been able to find out......It can't be upgraded and will not properly charge AGMs, so, it appears that my only choice is to go back in with the same batteries that it has in it or change out the converter.

I just want to make sure that I have this right.  Any opinions on this would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Marcia

General Discussion / Re: Removing front TV?

So, what you are saying is there is no bracket that you mount the TV to........that the screws go directly into the TV?  Would you have to mount a bracket to put the new TV on?  Is there a hole in the wall that the back of the TV goes into?  What would you mount the new TV to?  Thanks

If you remove the screws, how does that release the TV?  Does it release the whole wall or are they screwed into the bracket that holds the TV?   Is the TV mounted to a bracket?
Thanks for the info, so far.

Can anyone tell me how to remove the front TV in a 2552?  I thought I had seen a thread on here that addressed this, but I can't seem to find it now.  I have a TV that has lost it's mind.....it keeps turning its self off and on!  I'm looking to replace it and would appreciate any suggestion as to brand or anything else.  Thanks.

Update:  Since the curtains were, evidently, defective from the start, Phoenix will be replacing them, free of charge.  Now, how's that for customer service? !!!

Thanks, everyone, for the help!

Is the switch on the remote, the bypass switch?

Is the unit noisy?

General Discussion / Storage door clips

I broke the clip that holds the battery door up when I pulled out the battery tray and it fell on the ground.  I've ordered a new battery tray but will have to have a new clip ordered and painted to match if I can't find a source for a a new one.  PC installs stainless steel ones, now, but the ones they are using are smaller than the plastic ones used in the past so there would be a white ring around it.

Any one know of a source for stainless steel ones that are the same size?

So, if I understand correctly, if you install before the transfer switch the generator is not in the loop but the transfer switch is protected, and if it is installed after, the transfer switch is not protected but the generator is?

Do you both have them installed below the passenger bed?  When I looked under there, it looked like, what keelhauler referred to as input terminals, would have to be moved over.  Is that something that can be done easily after the fact?

Shouldn't it be placed before the transfer switch?

Barry-Sue, where did you place the remote switch?

Does the constant blinking bother you?  I bother easily!  :lol

Thanks everyone for the suggestions.......I thought there might be a double sided hook strip or something that I was missing.  I've got a call into PC on a bunch of other things but that's for other threads.  I'll ask them about it and see what they say.  If the cost is prohibitive, I'll probably use small chip clips until I figure something else out.  I don't sew....although, I guess you could sew a few hook tabs by hand down one of the strips.

Anyway, thanks again......At least, I now know, I'm not Velcro challenged.  :-D

I thought I had read a thread here about installing a Progressive Industries hardwired EMS in a 2552 by moving something under the passenger bed.....but, I can't seem to find the thread, now.  Anyone have any advice on where to put it and making sure it is before the transfer switch?  Thanks.

Can someone tell me how to close the front curtains?  I see the Velcro strips but both are the fuzzy part.....none of the sticky part!  Thanks.
