Thanks Bob.  A new pump is over $300 so I am willing to do what ever I can to repair/rebuild this one.  Just has been driving me nuts with the leak/no leak situation.  I dumped and flushed the tanks and put it in storage and there did not appear to be a drip at the time.  I went back today to get some things and checked and it started to drip again.  My tanks are as empty as I can get them and since the valves are shutting off any liquid getting to the pump I was completely baffled as to why it continued to leak.  Can there be that much left in the pump after the valves close?  Do you know of any videos or instructions available on how to remove and dismantle the pump?  I want to be as well informed as I can before I start into this.  My brother says to just remove the whole thing and put a manual system in but I don't want to do that.

My Sanicon pump is dripping, not from the weep hole but from the joint in the middle with the half moon holes around it.  I figured it had to be a valve that was not closing all the way so I had my brother adjust them so they close fully now.  It drips right after I dump the tanks and then, as I use it more it stops.  I am thinking I have a valve that is "loose" in the gasket and when more pressure gets behind it it pushes on it and forces it to seal tight.  Anyone have any ideas?  Anyone know what kind of replacement seals go in the Auto Drain three inch valves just in case I get brave and decide to take them apart to repair them?

I was trying to dump my tanks after about 900 miles on the road and the pump up and quit on me.  I turned it off and could not get it to start again.  I waited until I got home the next day to see what I could do about it.  I checked all the fuses and they were good so I took a screwdriver and moved the impeller on the pump back and forth until it freed up and would turn continuously in a clockwise direction.  That fixed the problem and the pump ran fine on my next attempt to dump.  Something was stuck and it just shut the pump off rather than burning it up.  Oh, the screw is on the end of the pump facing the street, very easy.

Thank you!  I have a brother up in Oregon whom I am going to go see in a month and he has been an RV person for about 3 decades now and I have a list of the things I am going to have him address.  He has owned a Camper, a B, an A, and now uses either his 5th wheel or his camper.  If it can be done to an RV, he has done it.  I just wish he wasn't over a thousand miles away, wait, maybe I do!  Gives me a great excuse for a nice long trip!

I am the proud new owner of a 2007 2551 PC!  I just drove it back from San Diego to Glendale, AZ yesterday.  Today I got it titled and registered with new AZ plates.  I picked it up on Saturday with my son and grandson so I had someone to drive my car back.  I got a great deal on it and they are so hard to find out here used.  It only has 13,500 miles on it and we camped in it on Saturday night and got familiar with some of the workings and I have a list of things that need to be fixed or replaced but I love it!  I already have searched through the forum and found answers to some of my questions but I have more!  I put brand new tires on it as soon as I got it but I need valve extenders for the rear.  The original Michelin's were almost 7 years old and although the tread looked like new, the cracks everywhere were not good for driving in 120 degree temps across the desert yesterday.  I'm looking forward to a long and happy relationship with my PC and this group!

I am a brand new RV-er and I am in the process of purchasing a 2007 PC 2551.  The inside is like new and it only has 13,500 or so miles on it.  I had to drive 344 miles to see it and check it out and it should be ready in a week or so.  I would like to know if I can get an owner's manual for it.  Since I am new to it I have been devouring everything I can on line to learn about the ins and outs of how things work and what maintenance I should be doing, etc.  For instance, for the fresh water tanks, add a proper amount of bleach, run the faucets one at a time until I smell the bleach, then drain the tank, put fresh water back in and run the faucets until bleach can no longer be detected in the faucets.  The instructions I saw said to use a quarter cup of bleach per 10 gallons, I think.  Is there any where I can go to get all of these maintenance tips in one spot or do I just have to find my way around system by system?  I'm looking forward to being able to participate with the forum and hope  soon I won't have just questions but can contribute my experiences also as I am headed north for the summer!  Going to get out of the Phoenix summer heat!
