General Discussion / 2551 Sofa Modification
« on: January 25, 2015, 12:03:25 pm »
We have a 2008 2551 Cruiser.  After sitting on the factory installed sofa/bed for a few trips we realized that it was time for something more comfortable.  We removed the sofa along with its mechanism and replaced it with a custom built sofa made at RV Décor in Yuma Arizona.  The custom fit (54") sofa is great, comfortable and there is additional storage under the seats.  This should be an option at the factory, not the uncomfortable sofa/bed that was installed.

General Discussion / House Batteries for 2008 2551

Getting ready to replace the original batteries on my 2008, 2551 Phoenix.  What are the recommended engine and house battery replacements.

On my wife's side, she also needed an inch or so to be comfortable.  I cut a 21 inch square section out of the wall at the foot of the bed.  I framed up the opening in thin cherry stained wood, then I added some insulation between the wall and the refrigerator.  I gained 1 1/2 inch of foot room and that is what was needed.  Easier than bed stretchers.

I agree that the factory installed sofa is extremely uncomfortable.  We pulled ours out last week and gently placed it in the dump.  We are using nice lawn chairs until we find a 54 inch wide love seat or sofa.
