Title: Driving the Cabot Trail
Post by: gp0900 on May 13, 2019, 01:14:35 pm
I've read a few posts about the Cabot Trail but nobody mentioned the road. Can anyone can give me some information about actually driving this twisty road. We're driving a PC 31, towing a jeep and I'm just wondering whether it would be better to leave the rig at a campground and just take the Jeep to make the drive around the top of the trail, returning back the same way we came.

We drove it in the car 2 or 3 years ago leaving the PC in Baddeck where we stayed in a private campground.
Itís a great drive and I think you would enjoy it more in the car. There are also side roads, such as the one to Meat Cove which the RV would not make.
The next decision is to do it clockwise or counter clockwise. Counter puts you on the ocean side of the road which maximizes your view as well as enhancing your view straight down the cliffs along the roadside.
Enjoy itís a great area with lots to see and enjoy.
