Title: Installing an inverter on a 2002 PC 2550
Post by: Bbutler455 on March 08, 2012, 01:28:15 pm
Has anyone installed an inverter on on older PC that only has the converter.  (Wife wants to watch TV while we drive)  I will also need more than the single battery.  Suggestions?

If it is strictly for the TV while you are going down the road go to Radio Shack and buy a cheap inverter that plugs into a 12V plug.  This will run your TV and not hurt the battery as you are charging it while you're driving.  You can get a lot more complicated and spend $1,000.00+++ but don't need to.  This is all we did in something like 2004.

Nice to see you chiming in now and then Stuart.
One would have to be quite determined and also electrically skilled to retrofit their older non-invertor rig to the later full-inversion.
Placing a second battery near the first one yet in an easy-to-access area could also be challenging.
