Title: Magnetic Mount Paper Towel holder
Post by: Barry-Sue on January 06, 2012, 09:09:23 am
Here is the link to the magnetic mount paper towel holder that I use:  http://www.organizeit.com/magnetic-mount-paper-towel-holder.asp?cmpid=SLI

It mounts to the underside of the microwave.  It works great and can be positioned anywhere underneath the microwave.

I thought all PC microwave ovens hang over the stove top.  Paper towels hung over the stove top is concerning.

The microwave is over the stove; however, the magnetic paper towel holder is the perfect solution to keeping paper towels at hand. We saw the holder that Sue bought and we plan on doing the same. Obviously, you would remove the paper towels if using the stove. I think, in the year that we have owned the 2551, I have used the stove two or three times.

It is much neater than having the paper towels on the counter.

Okayyyyyeeeee.
I hope you all will be disciplined to remove the towels before lighting up the cook top.  For me and my household, that would spell disaster.

Like Ron, I also am a little uncomfortable with paper towels over the gas cook top.  I tend to have a simpler, less elegant approach to most things compared to other forum members.  I have a plain as dirt white plastic holder with the two ends that fit into the ends of the paper tube mounted with wood screws in the bottom of the cabinet over the sink just behind the light fixture.  It's out of the way but easily accessible and it's near the wet stull where you expect to need a towel.  I think they cost all of about $3 and take about 5 minutes to install.

Appreciate all your concerns about a possible fire hazard--the paper towel holder is actually set against the back wall and not over the stove top.  I placed a command hook on the small space behind the microwave (Judi-I did this after you left) that actually keeps the towel holder snug to the back wall.  It actually lines up with the valance over the sink.  That is how far back it is set.  I'll post pictures when I get a chance.

I also can easily remove the paper towel when cooking if I so desire, but the height and distance from the stove top is virtually the same as if I had mounted it over the sink top or left it free standing on the counter.

I used this same design on the 2350 and never had a problem.  The design of the microwave in the newer units is much higher than in the older units.  I think each person must assess what is right for their own unit depending upon model year and design.

Here is where I put our paper towel holder. Wish I'd known about the magnetic one.

Has anyone considered putting the paper towel holder over the entry door?  I considered it until my wife brought home a beautiful "God Bless Our Home" decal for over the entry way.  No way would I cover over that.
