What email list and how does one subscribe?

Oh yes, I can't seem to add any smileys to my emails. I click on it and it just says what it does.

They don't show up until after you hit post or preview. In your message it just shows you the shortcut you can use to type them if you don't want to click them.  Like :lol is a colon followed by the letters lol
