Okay, everyone thinks Arizona is mostly desert, but we live northeast of Phoenix and already have below freezing nights and a couple of snowstorms with another on the way this weekend. Those of you in the true winter areas will laugh, but we've had enough--so we're loading up and heading 90 miles south to Lake Pleasant for a few days of kayaking and 70+ degree weather. The snowbirds from Canada have migrated to the Phoenix area, and the traffic is terrible--but we'll be away from all that enjoying a nice campfire overlooking the lake, watching those beautiful sunsets.

We just returned last night from an 11 day cruise on the Caribbean. The PC stayed home. RVing and cruising are our two primary vacationing methods. We average one 2-3 week RV trip and one 7-11 day cruise per year, but rarely have time for weekend get-aways. We can't seem to drop things and get-away on a whim. It always requires planning due to weekday and weekend commitments.

Good for you for getting away! I hope it's just the breath of (warm) fresh air you need!
