We spent 6 days at a beautiful camp ground. We enjoyed the Giant Sequoia trees
The Centennial had a diameter of 24' General Grant is 40' diameter.
We spent 6 days, no TV, computers and no phones.

Sounds and looks like you had a great trip. Someday I hope to get that far west and see those great big trees for real. Thanks for the pictures.

I love Sequoia NP. It's time for another visit as it has been maybe 16 years. Yosemite too.
Nice pics there Billy! Thanks for sharing.

Billy,
We love to go to Sequoia/Kings Canyon NP. There is a great side road on the way down to the Kings Canyon area that is a great camping area. It is the road to Hume Lake. There are a couple of NP campgrounds down by the lake and at the end is a Christian camp for kids. At this camping area there is a store for food and gas and a large snack bar you can get hamburgers/sundaes. You can also rent boats for the lake. Spent many years volunteering for maintenance at the camp. They also have programs in the evening that campers in the NP campground can attend. Have not been back since moving to Idaho, but your pictures tell me it is time for another visit.

Bob, took both roads to Hume Lake, one down and one up the camp is going strong, the fuel was up to 479 gal and the food was just as high.
But what a pretty site.

Been to the area for some backpacking a couple of times (Alta Pk; Bearpaw Camp) and now need to do an RV trip due to your pictures rekindling memories. I was in the Wolverton area and, if I remember correctly, the road in from Fresno is less windy/twisty than the southern approach from Visalia (also, I think the southern road is still under construction).. I fondly recall co-pilot "commenting" that they built a road in here just so people could look at trees? She was appreciably awed when we took the Gen Sherman trail from the top parking lot. Thanks for sharing your experience.
