Last night our TV turned off. I heard a small "Click", and of course when we got in bed, Sharon heard the fan run then turn off. I pulled the plug, turned off the inverter. This morning I plugged the electric in, turned on the inverted and sat and waited. I now runs kinda funny, runs for 12-15 seconds turns off. Any ideas??? Now my batteries are charging up to 14.1, never did that before. Who has the number to call the factory, other then Sturarts #.
PS, I checked all the wires in the panel, all tight.

Based on my older Tripp-Lite inverter, it sounds like the inverter is fine. Our inverter fan will do the same when first turned on as long as there is no request for 110V. As an experiment, plug in a 110V night light with the typical indoor Christmas tree size light bulb, and then turn on the inverter. See if that night light stays on, and also observe the inverter fan. The inverter fan might turn on and stay on only when significantly more power is requested, like running a coffee maker for example. Also use the night light to check each outlet.
I do wonder if your TV is okay. If it does not work, bypass the inverter and plug your TV directly to an external power source. Also see if things change when running the generator.
The more you experiment with, the smarter of a discussion you can have with Kermit.
Good Luck there Billy

I talked to Bob at Phoenix, he gave me Zantrex ? phone #, called them and we had a long talk. First of all it was NOT the inverter, it was the converter. He assured me not a fire risk. First I got the old hydrometer and checked each cell, all were fair to good, these are only a year old this month. Then I turned off the batteries, turned off the inverter hooked up the smart charge and charged for about 2-3 hours. Have not had time to do the hydrometer check again as I chenged the oil and filter. I was just a little tired, do that tomorrow. Oh, just a minute, someone is knocking on my door, >:( never mind it was just my butt dragging in roflol
By the way, the batteries were just a little low.

Charged the batteries and found one with a low to bad cell, did not check the other battery. I checked them before charging with a hydrometer, after charging the same. These batteries were dated Sept 2011. I think this is why my converter is running screwie.

Sept 2011 is in the future, not here yet.
