Title: Macerator Rebuild kits?
Post by: pyrthkr on July 13, 2011, 07:45:38 pm
Anyone know of such a thing?  Mine's leaking like a sieve again.  I rebuilt it earlier this year & used a marine sealant - maybe that was wrong - and reused the paper washer already in the unit.  I've really tightened the 2 accessible outside nuts but hesitate to take it apart again.  Worked fine on our March Fayetteville/Fredericksburg trip after the rebuild & now - I hide by the community dump and have the hose ready.  Would hate to have to go to a new one just to eliminate the leaks.

Hi:

Have you tried contacting the manufacturer directly?

Not yet DJM.  Frankly, I get better ideas & responses from this forum. but I will give it a try as it seems the sensible thing 2 do.

Thx Gradygal.

Just returned from our Hood River Trip.  No more big ones this year - just a couple of weekend trips to Ventura, CA and Sedona, AZ so I have time to fiddle around again.  i look at the Johnson kit and see if it fills the bill!

I finally bit the bullet and replaced mine --- got it from PC for less than Thetford wanted, and it was an easy job...
