We've moved our forum and site over to a bigger, faster, more reliable server. Although we have spent most of the weekend making sure that no one loses any avatars, attachments, images, etc. you may notice some things out of kilter. Please let me know about anything that doesn't work quite right, and I'll see what I can do.
Many of you with avatars will notice that it shows I've edited your profiles. The move killed most attachments and avatars because of the encryption used in the database for those items. I went in and re-added your avatars manually yesterday. About 2/3 of the attachments in posts did not transfer either, and I went in yesterday, and downloaded attachments from the old host, and re-added them to your posts where they were before. I tried to be vigilant to keep your photos in the same order you had them, but I may have messed something up. If you notice that, feel free to remove your attachments and add them again in the order you wanted.
I think this new server gives us quite a bit of growing room. (cheer) Hopefully everything will be easy peasy.

My "New Topic" notices aren't displaying in the main page of the forum all the time. Sometimes I have to open a board and look to see if there are the little blue "new" icons next to a post. When I clear my cache, it fixes it. Is this happening for anyone else? If it is, I'll see if I can pinpoint the error over the weekend.

I’ve been having a problem the last few days. When I logon and click “Show unread posts since last visit”, I get no new topics although there are new topics. I have to back to “General” and manually click on each topic that I think is new since my last visit. :help

Aimee,
For me, the "New Topic" notices are displaying in the main page all the time as well as the blue icons next to a post.
However, I have noticed something not quite right, I am not complaining but since you are asking about a problem -- :-D
In the upper left area of the page, the topic subject is displayed when you open a topic, just above the "Pages: [1] Go Down". For me, the lower half of all the letters of the topic subject are gone on that line. Also, on the same line, the "Search" box is not working, half of what I type is out of (above) the search box and the search button doesn't work.
Again, I am not complaining, just wanted to let you know what I am seeing. I am sure that you expected some glitches with the changeover.
Thanks, Bob A

Thanks for letting me know. :)
I really do appreciate the feedback. I use Safari browser on a Mac, and haven't done a lot of testing on any Windows machines at all, so I'm relying on you guys to point things out. I'm glad that (for the most part) things have been smooth.
I'm remarkably reasonable when someone's tone is pleasant ;) I don't mind at all to hear news about anything that's different since the move.
For those who were having problems like I was with the "new" topics, try deleting all cookies from phoenixusarv.com That fixed the problem for me. It'll mean you have to sign in again next time, but after that, it seems to work fine.

I hadn't thought about different machines and different browsers behaving differently (lots of differents!). For my situation, I am on a PC using Internet Explorer version 7.
Thanks for the great job you do Aimee,

:lol You're right. It is lots of differents. On my Mac, I use VMWare to let me run 3 Windows machines. One has older versions of browsers (IE6, Firefox 2, Safari 3, Opera 9), and the other two have newer and newest versions of those plus Chrome. It's crazy how differently the browsers and Operating Systems behave given the same code.
And you guys are most welcome. I love making life easier for you guys here. It's a great group. :-) kumbaya

Hi Aimee:
I use Mozilla and have not had one problem yet. So, good on that side.
