Title: rear door struts/shocks
Post by: mciai2000 on June 21, 2011, 09:06:15 pm
Has anyone had problems with the shocks on the rear compartment door ?  Both of mine pop off when I am closing or opening the door. There are little metal slides on the top and bottom of the shocks that I think are supposed to lock them. I think I may have a bad set of shocks. Any help here?

I would contact the factory.  Either they send a new pair free or at cost.

We just called Carol at PC about the same problem. It seems they put the wrong poundage shock in our 2551. Carol said it should be 30# not 50#. Carol is sending out 30# set.

On our 2350 we had one side come out of the door. Doug at the factory used 5200 in the screw holes. The screw never come out again.

so, I sent an e-mail to Amanda at Phoenix on Friday about the door struts.  She said she passed my e-mail to Kermit and he would be in touch. When all the lines are busy at our office it rings at my desk last.  Today my phone rang and I picked it up and the caller said, " Hi this is Kermit from Phoenix USA, is David there."  Well that caught me off guard. Anyway, based on our conversation he is sending me new struts and new locks for the outside compartments.  By the way, my Cruiser went out of warrenty in March....  Nice touch Kermit....
