Given that this is a long weekend, I thought I would start this topic asking where everyone is going this weekend and if they plan on camping or visiting friends and family. Anyone staying home due to the gas prices?
My wife, two dogs and I are headed to Flory's campground in Ronks, Pa. It is just east of Lancaster in the tourist area. Lots of shopping and touring the Amish areas. Also near by Strasbourg has a tourist railroad, a railroad museum and a toy railroad museum. The food that the Amish prepare will have us losing our belts before the weekend is out.
So what are you doing?
Take a few minutes to remember our troops where ever they are serving and those who gave their all so we can have this weekend and life style. :)(:

We’re headed to Nashville, Indiana with camping friends. Great place. All kinds of camping, shops, restaurants, playhouses and activities. 120 miles one-way. http://www.browncounty.com/
Filled up the PC and both cars yesterday: gas was down to $3.63 a gallon; total $250. Went up 21˘ later in the day. :'(

We were going to be on the Oregon and Washington coasts for three weeks getting our fill of clam chowder. But my wife fell last weekend and broke her heel, had surgery and now has screws and wire in her foot. Has to have no weight bearing for 8 weeks, so we will not be going out in the RV for a while. :'( :'(
We did get out in the RV 4 months in the past year, so maybe we need to give the RV a rest anyway. (WH)

Oh no, Bob! I hope she mends quickly and you two find ways to get out in the RV as soon as possible. ((hug))

sorry to hear about your wife breaking her foot. :getwell Are you sure that she fell and she did not kick you in the butt. roflol Take good care of her.

If we had our 2551 we would be going this weekend. Last summer we did the Michigan State Parks for the Holidays. What a great time. Have fun camping.
Bob - sorry to hear about your wife, take care of her and go sit in the RV when she is resting.

Enjoy the Amish country Tom --- love it there...
We're staying here for the weekend, but going to the shore, across from Assateague Island Tuesday-Friday after Memorial Day to avoid the heavy crowds....

We are going here,

We use our 2551 for "Events" mostly !.., Its primary job is to tow a race car 7,000 lb trailer
to races mostly in the northeast.
Its other job is to take us to music festivals and so on.

Castle A. F. B. Atwater, California. On this weekend there is a remote controlled airplanes (Fly-in). You should see how some of these fellows fly these plans. We eat, relax, watch plans fly and drink, not necessarily in that order. (cheer)

We are not going anywhere this weekend-other than our pool! We have one trip planned for Sebastian Inlet State Park in June and then the BIG ONE in July.
With the price of fuel, we have to save our pennies for our eight week trip to Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island. At $1 more per gallon than last year, less MPG than the Sprinter that we traded for the 2551 and 5000 miles or so round trip------------------
I think I'm gonna have the big one!!!!!!!!!!!!!

On Monday, we are heading out from Western New York, going through New England to New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island and possibly take the ferry to Newfoundland. We are planning to be gone about 3 weeks. We don't really know what to expect. If anyone has been there before I would appreciate any words of wisdom and information. There seems to always be a list of do s and don't s from past travelers that is worth their weight in gold.

We will be home this Memorial Day weekend, time with local family and working around the house. But I am "REALLY" itching to get away for a weekend in our PC.

We have gone to Nova Scotia, PEI, New Brunswick etc. for the past two years and are heading there in July. There is so much to see and do, I doubt if you will have enough time to get to Newfoundland.
We love it there! In NB, do not miss Hopewell Rocks. Tides 48-50 feet. Also, the Cabot Trail in NS is beautiful. Alexander Graham Bell Museum in Baddeck, the Louisburg Fortress. We stayed in some nice campgrounds and some not so nice. If you would like more info, PM me. I don't want to bore the rest of the gang.

Wherever your PC takes you this weekend, snap some pictures for me!! I'll be spending the weekend working at home, and supervising practices at the gym getting the kids ready for Nationals next month. And while you're at it, enjoy an extra drink for me. :)(:
Cheers!

To the shop to get that pesky jack, that won't stay down fixed (needs a new solenoid valve).
After paying for that probably won't be able to fill the tank, stay home, mow the yard while the ribs are smoking and watch the races.
Such a deal.

Judi, I'm so excited about your Nova Scotia pics! I think it was one of your photos from a previous trip that first inspired me to have the randomly swapping image on the Phoenix Cruiser home page, and now look at it! I love it. heartshower

(exactly)That was us with our 2350 Sprinter last year in front of the Woods Island Lighthouse on Prince Edward Island. Plan to get a photo of the 2551 in the same spot this year.

Judi ...... tymote
We're going to look through some more info on NS and PEI and I may have a few questions for you when we're done searching.
-
We'll be more than happy to help out. George's mom and dad were both born in PEI so he has many relatives there. That is why we have been going back so often (Next year to the West!). Also, we have a neighbor here in Florida who lives here 6 mo. and Nova Scotia 6 mo. Last year they took us around NS and we found places we would NEVER have found on our own.
Safe travels--too bad we were not going to be there the same time.

Hi Fellow Campers:
We were in Catawissa PA with our camping club. 13 members were there. We stayed in a campground across from Knoebel's Amusement park. Spent Sat. in the park and Sunday morning too. We have two happy but very tired boys ... Today was spent driving home, cleaning the rv, and swimming in the pool.. Love that Cruiser,,,
Aimee, I sure did that have that drink for you....
