I’m thinking of picking up a small travel trailer for my son in another state. It is 19 feet long and weighs about 3100 pounds. Anybody have thoughts or input on that?

I have not pulled a travel trailer but have pulled a Jeep Liberty {3500 lbs} and another time towed an Alfa Romeo on a car trailer You should be fine but keep the transmission in tow haul mode. If the travel trailer has surge brakes even better. If the travel trailer has electric brakes, I would have them hooked up.

We towed a 15 foot trailer full of marching band instruments on several occasions without a problem.
One possible concern is high winds. Putting a big box on the back of the RV is like adding a sail. Check the weather and route before you go.

Amsoilman,
It is a once-and-done mission, right? Take it easy and you should do fine. Just don't tow in high cross-wind conditions as 2 Frazzled says. I don't consider 19 feet including tongue, being of great influence, especially on a long wheel base 3100. Donc13 offers some great advise on tow/haul and trailer brakes.
Let us know how it worked out for you.
