Having a problem with my electric step. It will not stay out. Close the door and it retracts. Checked the on/off switch, it’s OK. Anyone have any ideas? I’m going to ass u me the on/off switch interrupts the door switch? Any ideas?

The only thing I can think of is that your Ford ignition key hole up front is not completely positioned right with the key removed. That always forces the step to fold up. You know how some ignitions are sloppy enough that you can actually remove the key while the engine is running. It might be a Ford problem, not a Phoenix problem.

Billy,
We had the same problem on our 2011 PC 2551. It turned out that the 5 Amp fuse had blown. The fuse is not in any fuse box. There are 4 fuses tucked behind the panel directly under the emergency brake release. To access the fuses, you remove the panel. In order to release the panel, there is a small plastic clip where the emergency brake cable goes through. You have to lift the cable and pull it toward the passenger side of the cab. You'll find wired in fuse holders that have rubber caps. Open the caps and check the fuses. Good luck. Hope this helps.

Good information! Glad it was an easy fix. Hopefully your fuse won't pop a 2nd time.
