Title: I could read the book, but

The DVD player in the bedroom, I inserted a dic, it showed it was working but no sound. Anyone know? Did not have the bedroom TV on. (WH)

With the rear TV on, inserted a disk in the rear DVD player & still no sound? As far as the picture goes, on the front TV you don't need a picture. I turned on the DVD, TV & inserted a disk and had music?

Billy,
The front DVD player has the amp built into the DVD player, which is where you get the surround sound from. You control the volume on the DVD play. This is why you do not need the front TV on to get sound. On the rear DVD player, the sound comes from the TV only, so it must be on and set for the DVD player in order to get sound.

With the tv on, press the menu button on the remote and see if source can be changed to dvd.
