Title: Furnace and Heat strip
Post by: longdog2 on September 30, 2021, 01:08:16 pm
My last trip out this spring, the furnace fan would not quit running even when the furnace was not selected. Finally got it to stop by unhooking from shore power. Also, every time I turned the furnace on, the heat strip would come on. So the furnace then quit working and the Heat Strip came on on both the Heat Strip and Furnace settings.

I just now did the thermostat reset as posted by Donc13 back in December. Now neither the Heat Strip or the Furnace come on. Will be camping next three months so would like at least the furnace to work.

You may want to check the thermostat wiring.  The actual on/off wiring to the furnace is in the air conditioner itself, I don't know why it'd change but the symptoms you describe point to the controller or wiring.  Or the thermostat itself could be defective.  That would not surprise me.   I would once again re-initialize the thermostat, make sure you get the 2 dashes on the screen and try to use again.

Troubleshoo may be best left to a RV shop or a mobile RV repair shop that will come to your location.

Thanks so much! I did the reinitializing the thermostat again. Didn't seem to make a difference but this morning I tried selecting the furnace and it worked! Next I selected the Heat Strip and it worked. Thanks so much.
