FYI, if you ever notice water suddenly appearing on your floor and you can't find a leaking pipe, check your hot water tank. While getting ready for our next trip, I found water on the newly installed laminate flooring. Fearing a leak from a frozen pipe over the winter, I checked the pipes and flooring under the bed, in the bathroom, and under the sink. I found wet sawdust along the wall under the sink by the by-pass valves, but couldn't find any leaking pipes or leaks from the faucet. So I removed the partial wall and floor shelf where the factory installs the coffee pot, and found the top and bottom connections on the hot water tank were leaking. At first I thought the "plastic" elbows were leaking, but on further inspection found the leaks were coming through the pipe dope. I cleaned off the pipe compound and used teflon tape, and the leaks stopped. Probably just a freak thing, but something to keep in mind just in case.

The reason I purchased and installed these Water Alarms. They are easy to install and the 9V battery should last awhile.

Thanks for the "Head's Up".
It is nice to know the floor is protected under there with the linoleum. Small leaks caught quickly does no damage.
