Post by: hutch42 on November 20, 2020, 02:19:55 pm

So where would an AWD vehicle with low ground clearance  and a 10'6" roof really  shine?
I was told the Transit vans feel top heavy due to thier narrow track.  The Ekko looks like it could be a handful on even  a  moderately windy day.

Here's the total opposite, and what I'd be getting if I was young again:

My first camper was a 1970 VW Bus I converted, I had a leather workshop and a bed in the back (and six speakers for the cassette deck).
Here's some other cool designs, The Hymer is truly amazing engineering:

WOW, now that is a very interesting design and efficient use of space.

On the Ekko I like the permanent beds, large garage and the convertable shower which solves the dry bath in a small RV issue but I am not a fan of cassette toilets. We would have to dump them far too often.

2 lucky.  That VW is pretty kewl if I was young and ONLY if I lived where it never gets hot or humid. No AC for starters is a no go.

Far as the Ekko goes I guess there’s a balance of how much you can pack in a small unit. I’m also in agreement with Mike on the cassette toilet, having to be dumped often.  Everybody’s different but for us at some point we would much rather stay at a hotel.
