Title: Shower Door Plastic Thing
Post by: Bangorbob on September 25, 2020, 10:49:45 pm
We had been out on the road for a whopping 4 days when the shower accordian plasitc door cracks.  Of course most of the showers in RV parks are closed so we have to use our RV shower.  Has anyone had to replace their door?  If so, what/where did you get a replacement?

We have a glass door now but in the past we had a shower curtain that I believe was on a tension rod that was mounted low enough to have the curtain drape at least six inches in to the shower pan.  It wasn't ideal but kept the water from splashing out.

Duct tape is a temporary vacation saver until you can find a replacement.

Oh ya!  Ducked that thing up.  Actually I used tape that holds down audio cables to carpet/etc.

Got my new shower door from PC.  Cost to ship as we all know is ridiculous.   Shipping from anyone is stupidly expensive.   Anyway,  I have the old 3 panel with all the aluminum framing.   I will be getting rid of it unless someone needs a part off of it.

I threw the plastic panels away, but kept the frame and hardware.  I don't the width.  Maybe Ron can measure and report.

Maybe Ron can measure and report.
In our 2007 2350, the 3-panel shower door, each panel measures the same 8-3/4" metal-to-metal in full-open fashion, so I would say each is 9" wide when considering the little extra for the attachment to the metal.

Talk about slow.  That's me sometimes.  I still have all the frame parts for the shower door.  I will be throwing them in the trash if no one can use any of the parts.  Let me know if you need/want any of the parts.
Sir,  do you still have the shower door?  If so what are you asking for it?

Thanks, Bob

Here’s the ordering info for  the Magnafold shower door replacement panels for the 2350.
The door takes 3 each p/n SP9W , specified  cut to 62” length. Cost was $63. Ships rolled up in a small box. The panels have proprietary T-shaped flanges on the sides for locking in to the aluminum frames, so  it’s not possible to use an alternative material.

Mine have been replaced 3x. This time they lasted only 6 years before cracking at the top again.  I suspect it’s due to heat or UV light from the skylight.  My 2350 is stored outside in a cool coastal climate with the shower door always closed and bathroom door cracked open.

Removing and rebuilding the Magnafold  accordion door is  a bit of a pita, but R&R’ing Bob’s old door would be easy  since it’s already apart. Shower Solution’s website has a instructional video showing how to release the rollers. https://showersolutionsusa.com/

Thanks, CalCruiser!  Now I know where to get my replacement panels.  The same video, with audio, is at  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NNKY5BRPDIs&t=2s
