Title: Lubricating Slideout
Post by: sailors35 on July 06, 2020, 11:57:25 am
Ok, watched the You Tube video from Schwintech.  Purchased the recommended CRC product, but it came with only a 4" tube which does not allow you to follow directions from video.Called CRC to see if they had longer tubes, answer is no.  Checked Amazon some are available in 10" but not sure if they are of the same diamaters.  Interestingly enough the CRC rep gets this call frequently and has no idea where Schwintech got the tube in the video.  Thoughts, advice appreciated. pyho

I have had good luck making 'extender tubes' using shrink tubing to connect the original tube to another. Do it when they are new, and no oil/grease residue.

If you take 1/8" airline (available by the foot at NAPA, and many other retailers  https://www.napaonline.com/en/p/GATH3000202)  it works well, and is rigid enough to put where you want. Should slip over the original straw. You can attach the extra line it to a dowel to aid in placement if it is too long to self support.

I seem to remember ""welding"" the airline to the original tube with a bic lighter, but the shrink tubing should keep it on also.  :)(:

Good Luck!
