Title: Diamond Shield Removal
Post by: Big Green Machine on July 01, 2020, 10:45:38 am
Wife & I just spent 22 hours removing Diamond Shield from mirrors & header on our 2011 PC 2551. Talk about a nightmare...
I will never buy another product with this crap on it ! Bought a set of plastic chisels & heavy duty solvent remover from Amazon. Back breaking, time consuming work, but it beats paying the $2000 - $3000 to have a dealer do it.

Doesn’t sound like a task I’d care to undertake.  It’s no wonder it costs so much to have it done. Was it peeling that bad that there was no alternative?

I shared in another post that I am restoring a Saturn Sky.  On the trunk lid, Saturn placed something like Diamond Shield under the flip-up rear buttresses.  They were a total disaster as shown.

It took so much pain and suffering on my part to get.....
From this which was once clear film.

Cleaning it off a Phoenix Cruiser is unthinkable.
Bonnie and Rich, I commend your determination.
