One of my two low point drain valves will not completely close. One valve when pushing down snaps shut as it should. The other one allows the “stem” to move up and down but for some reason it will not snap closed. I was thinking of removing the metal snap clip at the top in order to remove the stem to determine if there is an O ring that is out of position and to check for foreign material preventing the valve from completely closing.
The valve is installed using a compression PEX connection while reliable is not so easy to change out thus I am hoping the valve can be repaired in place.
Anyone had a similar problem? Any suggestions?

I had issues when I picked up my camper with the low point drains dripping. I pulled them apart and installed new "O"-rings and still had the issues. I didn't want to have to cut into the pex piping as I didn't have the tools to clamp in new valves. I had to due something so I went and bought some shark-bite valves, cut the old valves off and slid on the new valves. They worked like a champ, I also added some copper on the outlet side of the valves exiting the coach. I should never have issues with the low point drain valves again.

I am doing the same thing when I get home. I am using using gate valves like Lance did, except the valves I got have a much smaller handle. Also, instead of the copper crimp rings (or sharkbite equivalent, I will be using Apollo stainless steel pinch rings. They are just as strong as the copper crimp rings, but the pinch tool is cheaper than the crimp tool and it is usable inside the drawer cabinet.
