Title: HVAC Controller Location
Post by: thrutraffic on December 30, 2019, 06:20:46 pm
Having issues with HVAC; 2011 2551.

Couple of problem examples:

- Turn furnace on, it runs brings up temp, turns off, never comes on again by itself, click temp up two (one won’t work) degrees and furnace runs a cycle, rinse/repeat.
- Set thermostat to furnace and when the furnace comes on so does the AC unit. I have to turn the AC breaker off to run the furnace by itself. I have a heat strip unit but the air doesn’t get warm so assuming it’s the AC fan running.

I’ve replaced the thermostat on recommendation of Dometic but that changed nothing.

I understand there is a control unit the thermostat connects to but don’t recall seeing that the few times I’ve had the utilities compartment under the bed open.

Before I rip that all apart again can someone confirm that’s the location of the controller I’m talking about?

The control unit is in the air conditioner itself.

It's a circuit board that's exposed when you remove the interior cover/air vent

You must have the fan set on auto when using the heat strip for heat. This will stop the fan from running when set on heat.

You must have the fan set on auto always, or fan will run in A/C when you run furnace.
