Title: Lippert Schwintek Lubrication
Post by: Engineerlt on December 28, 2019, 07:10:38 pm
Has anyone tackled lubricating the gibb and coupling on the Schwintek slide yet? I just did mine and I think going to the dentist would be a better time. I used the CRC with PTFE that Lippert recommends, the issue is that the shape of the PC wall makes it very difficult to get the straw into the gibb and coupling on the outside. I ended up taking 3 straws and using shrink tubing to join them together just so I could get to the bottom gibb. Also I shot some lube at the teflon rollers under the slide, they say its not required but I figured what the heck. Also I found something interesting, the seals under the slide that keep out the critters (seal the electrical and gas line) when the slide is out actually had a couple screws that were inline with the teflon roller making the slide jump. I removed the screws now the slide is pretty smooth.  Does anybody with a 2552 have a better way to lubricate the Schwintek slide? Lippert says you should do it from the outside and inside. I did it from the outside but inside I could only get the front, the rear I couldn't figure out how to get between the wall and slide.

Thanks for bring this maintenance issue up.   One of the youtube video from Lippert (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8KbVRFMo1Rg) it appears the CRC that they recommends comes with a red straw.  Did yours come with that straw since it sounds like your made that straw?   We have the 2910D but I am assuming all the other PC models are using the same Lippert slides?  Hope others will respond on what they do to keep their slides lubricated.

The CRC I bought is the 10 oz can which doesn't come with the straw just the 16oz can has the straw.  I had to take the nozzle off of my brake clean can to adapt it to use a straw and I gathered straws off of some other cans to make it work, so if you buy the CRC get the 16oz can.
