Title: Always new things to learn
Post by: catsaplenty on December 17, 2019, 08:44:33 pm
I am sitting still for a while and therefore finding that it doesn’t take much to amuse me.  Although I am in civilization the TV reception can be a bit iffy, which isn’t a big deal.  But I couldn’t figure out why the channel I watch for news in the morning would suddenly go out.  It took it happening in the evening for me to catch on (no, apparently, I am not a morning person).  This channel goes out every time I turn on the light over the sink and comes back in as soon as I turn the light off.  None of the other lights or any other electrical items for that matter make it happen.  Nor does that light affect the reception on the other channels.  No clue why.  Just a reason why I know I will never fully understand my home.  It will always be an adventure.

Hello Cats...  I have found a similar thing with my TV.  Additionally, windy days can seriously hurt OTA antenna reception.  One thing that sometimes helps is to not have the antenna fully cranked up, but instead lowered slightly to an angle...  Although I think we may have different antennas (mine is the Wineguard).  It also helps to rescan once in a while when channels seem to be disappearing.  Good luck... Stay warm... and always keep a good book handy!
