Title: Dinette cup holders?
Post by: TzrNPeg on November 01, 2019, 05:18:17 pm
Has anyone come up with cup holders for the dinette?  The little space between the table and the wall is too small.  Can't stick anything to the window because I usually have the sun screen pulled down.  Only thing I can think to do is screw something into the wall, but I'm not sure I want to do that.

Hi Peg,

With our PC now for over 12 years now, I still contemplate mounting cup holders to the walls.  I bought 4 of these folding ones early on, but they sit in my basement.  It's been a long time, so long that we've been managing without cup holders in the house.  Like you, I don't want to drill so many holes.  And I also wonder how well these contraptions will hold up over the years.

Our dinette table is the old design with two poles.  We had our share of small spills because of "table instability".  Last year I mounted a finished board to the wall under the table to rest on.  I also used a full strip of soft Velcro for a padded-rest and a few small mating pieces to further hold it still.  Our first trip out, we quickly appreciated the difference.

I have some of the following I use on the arm of folding chairs or our small folding table we use sometimes in lieu of a picnic table. Amazon has all kinds of clip on cup holders.  Some look sturdier than the ones I use but I purchased mine at a summer clearance sale at Target.
