I know it's a little early to be asking....... (exactly)
Is there a backup and refund plan for the rally if the hurricane wrecks things? pyho
We were going to spend a week in the Myrtle Beach area before the rally, so it looks like we will be needing to come up with a plan B. :'(
Here's hoping it stays far off the coast. :beg

We also had plans to stop at Myrtle Beach before hitting James Island. Guess we'll just have to wait and see just what happens, but guess a plan B is in order.
As far as refund plan goes, I have no idea. Just praying for the best.

I guess my big question would be.... Why don't you ask the people you sent the money for reservations and/or the Rally?
-
I see Myrtle Beach is closed as of Monday Sept 2 until further notice. And I just saw the same for all Charleston County Parks. Looks like I have to work on Plan B & C.

Looks like we're good to go for the Rally.
All Charleston County Parks remain closed on Saturday as we continue to assess damage and clean up. Please read on for further updates for Sunday.
PARKS & FACILITIES
The following parks will open on Sunday, September 8:
- Kiawah Beachwalker Park
- Folly Beach Fishing Pier
- Folly Beach County Park
- Isle of Palms County Park
- James Island County Park (including the Campground and Climbing Wall)
- Mount Pleasant Pier
- SK8 Charleston
- Wannamaker County Park

James Island County Park, including the campground, is open. No panic, it was a false alarm.
However, nothing in life is guaranteed. A meteor could hit Earth before the reunion and wipe us out like the dinosaurs. But if that happens, plan B wouldn't be needed either. I chose chill. Don't worry, be happy!

BillG,
I just read that they took Myrtle Beach off the closed list. Here's the quote from SCSP web site: "Due to cleanup and power outages from Hurricane Dorian, the following parks are CLOSED, as we work to get them ready for you: Edisto Beach State Park and Hunting Island State Park. Huntington Beach State Park beach access and day-use and the North Campground are OPEN. Atalaya, the South Campground, the Marsh Boardwalk, some shelters and trails remain closed."
So I'd say Myrtle Beach is open.

Thanks Garmp,
Called Lakewood CG on Monday, and they had a free on a picnic table....so she said. She said it wasn't nearly as bad as the media was saying. More fake news for the ratings!
It's all about the $$$. (exactly)
Safe travels,
