My old pump decided to quit after 11 years. Seeing all the posts here and searching the net foe a new one I decided to go with Thetford's 400S. It is a one piece unit and the hose is 1.5 inch rather than 1". and it has a larger two piece nozzle. (see photos)

Does that all fit in the bin on the Phoenix?

Hi backroadcruiser Bill,
I see you commented on my article below back in April 2015. I assume you tried it but did not like the results. Please share your experience with my pump replacement. What made you decide to replace it with this new system. What was the cost of the new system? Inquiring minds want to know. :)
For the rest of the group here......
I am always trying to make repairs, modifications, and upgrades done right (in my mind) but at the lowest price possible. CLICK HERE (http://forum.phoenixusarv.com/index.php/topic,2086.0.html) to read my experience replacing my macerator pump at a cost of $58.

Yes Holly it does fit into the storage bin with some modifications ... the hole needs to enlarged for the hose and the holding brackets for the nozzle need to be changed.....
And Ron I did take your advice but the mount for the pump cracked and leaked.
I went with the one piece unit to avoid the two piece problem.
My wife said that I need to stop doing unpaved roads. I loved RT 66 the old sections.... :lol roflol

Ron ... it was about $375.00 from PPL. woot

Ron Dittmer... this is the switch that comes with the unit. I chose to keep the old switch.

Thanks Bill for the information.
After you have used the new macerator set-up during a good long trip, I would love to read your evaluation of it, how it compares to the original design. As always, new versus used-&-tired-&-gummed-up has to be considered some how.

I will post a report on it.
