Title: short wife
Post by: billy on January 14, 2011, 10:15:11 pm
Sharon wants to know, at 5'6" will  be able to use the Microwave without much problems. OK, before you say it, she does know how to use a microwave. No short jokes   :lol   billy

yes, she will not be able to look down on the food while it is in the microwave. My wife is the same hieght and she does not have any problems, unless she really wants to go out to eat.  :lol

My wife, who is 5'4", uses our 2551 more than we do as a couple camping with a girl friend who also has a motor home.  Yes, she does complain about not being able to read the displays or see inside as well as she would like because the convection oven is too darn high.  She can live with it, but would find it nicer if it were lower.

My wife is 5'-2" and she does struggle.  She'll pull her cooking out from the micro to look in the pan.  Or I do the looking for her.

I would think another 4" will help a lot.  But if still no good, is there a place to store a cheap plastic one-step stool?

I'm 5' 1 1/2" and yes, the microwave is a bit of a problem. I can reach it ok (well..sorta), but can't make out the digital display from my angle. It ain't easy being vertically challenged!

When I took my motor cycle licenses the instructor call me vertically challenged! I mean just because my toes just got to earth! Thanks Trudy, bill

Hi there.  My husband is 5'8" and has trouble getting really hot dishes out of the oven due to its height.  I'm 5'2" and really struggle with it and cuss it out on every trip.  It works beautifully but is just too darn high for us.

I think the high mounted microwave is a common problem, not only in Phoenix Cruisers, but across the board in many motor homes.  I think the only solution is to find a fold-away stool that easily stores.

We bought a folding stoll from I think Linens & Things.  It was maybe $10.  We use it in the shower, but I suppose it would also serve well in the kitchen for that purpose.  Here it is.

We are just in the process of purchasing our PC 2700.  At just 5', our last RV, an Alfa, was 7' 6" inside height and I never ever managed to reach the upper cabinets. the microwave was in range of my finger tips!  A small stool from Wal-Mart enabled me to watch what was cooking and reach the lower cabinet!
