How many owners have the ribbed under belly material on the underneath side of the slideout? it makes for a very jerky in and out motion. I hear they no longer use that material. I also hear it can be replaced with a smooth covering. Anyone else notice the rough operation caused by this?

Hello, yes we can relate with this issue. Our 2018 2100 had the ribbed bottom and we experienced lots of shaking and movement. We also have encountered some shifting in the slide out which required onsite attention. I must say we were very pleased with the support on the repairs from PC. You should contact them if you continue to experience further issues.

I have a 2019 3100 and the under belly is smooth.

Yes. The underside of the slideout in our 2002 PC 2100 is ribbed rather than smooth. The advantage to this arrangement -- if there is one -- is that I can get to the all-thread screw and keep it clean and lubed. As you noted, the operation in the type of slide is not particularly smooth.

Does it hurt anything to have this rather rough operation?

Hope not, although in terms of a standard mechanical operation such is generally not desirable. Then again, the slide our 2100 has been operating since 2002. Suggesting a certain amount of reliability.
