This subject has probably been beaten to death, but please bear with me. We're looking for a quality plan and ask you opinions.
AAA seems great for autos, but heard their RV service is rather suspect.
Good Sam has horror stories scattered all over the web.
FMCA has gotten mostly good reviews, but their pricing seems deceptive, including club membership and such in addition to RA.
CoachNet is the leading candidate with best reviews, but has it's cost.
We're down to two: FMCA and CoachNet. FMAC is only $69 a year after you join their club for another $60.
CoachNet is $249 before discounts for disabled vets, etc.
Guess my question is: Is CoachNet worth the extra $120 for peace of mind.

Have you asked the insurance company that insures your motorhome if they provide it? You may not require a stand-alone policy.

Well your vehicle is not a car and it has some big things it needs when there is a mal function. I have seen Coach Net in operation and it is effective and does respond. The Fmca programs are similar and if you want someone to save the day you have to sign on. I have done more than one at times and feel fortunate never to have needed in the last ten years. Sometimes we determine our own breakdowns by our maintenance attitude. It's a "if you ever need it" program. Like my spare tire.

Gary I've had Coach Net since 2005.I don't believe I've ever paid that much. Now that I'm running a Ford, I'm thinking of not renewing because my Progressive Ins has roadside assistance and there are many places that can work on the Ford.
I've had to use Coach Net several times and they did a good job.

I just renewed my Coach-Net today for $169. Where did the $249 come from? Multiple years?

Us long time CN members are grandfathered in at the old rate. I guess that makes it less attractive to try Good Sam’s $79 promotional intro rate by making it perpetually more expensive to switch back. No complaints with CN service on the west coast, used it 2x to tow a Rialta and 1x for a flat tire on Wifey' s Jeep. Response times were ~ 1 hr and the phone operators took care of business.

Just renewed my Coach Net Premier for 159$, covers all vehicles we own. Don't know why new members are charged 249$

Must be the price for new members I guess. I don't know why they do that. Lynn's price was $159, my renewal was $169. Very strange.

Maybe I'm just whistling past the graveyard, but after reviewing the ordinary AAA coverage that we've kept on the cars for years, I didn't see the need to buy special RV roadside assistance for the 2 or 3 times a year we take out the Cruiser.
They have a special "premium" plan that covers RV's in the four allowed tows per year, but that doesn't mean they won't accept a call on my standard plan, it just means it will cost more. Personally, it just didn't seem worth the extra money for something that may never happen, and that I can afford to pay out of pocket if it does. I don't carry AAA because I can't afford to pay for a tow. I carry it so that I don't have to figure out who to call.
My theory is that anybody you use has to depend on contractors, so you're really buying their contact list. AAA has been around longer than anyone, so I just figured their list must be as good as anyone's.
But if I was a full-timer, I think I'd have a totally different opinion, since the odds of a breakdown would be exponentially higher.

Mrs V saw great value in it, and I see it also. Our two cars, and our 2350 are covered with (1) 200 mile tow, (3) 100 mile tows blah blah blah. Premier RV. $225 a year. 2o2
I worked towing and recovery in this area, and 'added costs' will certainly cross that mark when you upgrade from a car/SUV flatbed to a larger towing rig to assist a 2350. Plus you have the added benefit that the TowCo is aware of your RV size, etc.
Another premier premium perk roflol is that 'two recovery operators and two recovery vehicles' are covered. so when towing my trailer, and an event occurs that renders the 2350 immobile :beg it will NOT add several hundred dollars for the towing and recovery of the trailer. ;) I imagine the same would apply to a toad should an event render the PC and toad both unusable.
This, covering my car. Mrs V's and the PC... for less than $250. No brainer in my book. I take NO credit for finding this out, Mrs V reads the small print and explains it to me. :-D
I also realize that 'full timers' will have different needs, we only use the PC 4-5 times a year so far, and 250 miles away from home has been the farthest. And live in a very developed area.

I've been very happy with AAA and have had to use it once every couple of years: tire changes and fuel. It's all you need for your 2100.

The thing that bugs me about special RV tow insurance coverage is that for an extra $100, all you get is the right to have a bigger vehicle towed for free. What's their potential risk, maybe 2 grand, tops?
The liability coverage for that Smart car toad I just bought was only $300/yr for $50K/$100K coverage (and I thought that was high!). $100 for $2,000 worth of tow insurance seems like a rip-off, in comparison.
