Title: Grease Zerks
Post by: rvrunner on August 06, 2018, 11:02:03 pm
How many grease zerks under a 2017 E350? I found 4. None on the drive shaft. Am I missing any?

On our 2007, there are 8 grease fittings.

2 - upper ball joints
2 - lower ball joints
2 - steering end links
1 - arm at steering gear box
1 - link between gear box arm and the main steering linkage

It has been 11 years but I seem to recall not all grease fitting were installed by Ford.  I think the ball joint areas had metal hex screw-in caps that I had to remove and replace with 90 and 45 degree fittings.

I have no grease fittings on either U-joint and I don't recall any caps to replace with fittings.

I've got no lower ball joint zerks. Ford must have changed some joints to sealed. Your 07 with 8 grease Zerks sounds normal. My 2000 Astro van has around that many.

These two pictures of our front suspension were taken when our rig was almost brand new in 2007.  If you look close, you can see the caps on the lower ball joints.  I later replaced them with grease fittings.
