I was going to buy a Progressive Dynamics EMS-PT30X with under/over voltage shutdown protection, but after reading about the recent problems and poor tech support with thier internal units ordered this one instead https://hughesautoformers.com/product/pwd30/
I like the ability to check the line voltage from inside , and also the replaceable surge protection module . Auto shutdown would be better, but there's no worries about losing power because of a flaky comparator or bad relay.

Looks good. Please give us your feedback when you have a few miles on it.

CalCruiser, can you give us some feedback on this yet?
Thanks,

I am using it with the iPhone app, which is now updated with high/low threshold alarm settings , but have only used it to read the voltage before plugging in. I downloaded the Power Watchdog app and set it up at home first using a 15A adapter plug , but at the camground I had to use the app and the phone to scan the barcode on the side of the surge protector again to connect to Bluetooth because my IPhone does not save it to My Devices under Bluetooth settings. That's a little tricky in full sunlight , you just have to position yourself (or your wife) to cast a shadow on the barcode. Walking around the campsite the app chirps an alert whenever it disconnects or reconnects to Bluetooth, which always happens when sitting outside by the awning with the motorhome positioned between the phone and utility post.
The LED indicators on the surge protector for open neutral, open ground, and reversed are super BRIGHT and easy to see , even in full sunlight. If you are out for a stroll after dark and get lost just look for the 3 green LED' s . An additional indicator says to contact Hughes if it is red (presumably to replace the surge protection fuse?)
The female connector has a grip handle that could also be used to lock it to the shore power cord with a long padlock, which I will to do because I like my 30A Power Watchdog 2o2

I was glad to see this older post bumped. Coincidentally, I was searching various sites to decide on a Progressive or Surge Guard device. I have had and used my Hughes AutoFormer for over 15 years.
I was going with the Progressive until I saw your post (I remembered it from a couple of months ago). I assume you are happy with it. The price certainly seems reasonably. I was also hesitant in getting something that would shut down the electrical system.
Based on your report and the reputation of Hughes, I think I will order one. Oh, it seems that I have seen an AutoFormer that also suppresses power surges. I am now wondering if the surge protector can be used with the AutoFormer...dont see why not.
