Title: Do we need undercoating?
Post by: Pejibaye on October 27, 2017, 03:22:05 pm
Another question from future owners: we're taking delivery of our 2552 in April and heading through northern Canada cto Alaska in mid-May.  We'll be about 5 months on the road.  This will be our second trip; the first was in our Dodge 3500 with a Lance truck camper, and we accumulated lots of the gravel/lava/mud mixture under the truck and in the wheel wells.  Once it set up, there was no way to get it off.

We now live in TN, so were not planning to get the undercoating.  The question is: do we need the undercoating to protect our brand new coach from the northern roads?

I can't recommend it for a PC.  As shown in the picture, the under-side of the house floor is a thick plastic sheet which covers the wood, the foam block insulation and the steel floor frame.  I would think that is adequate protection where it is needed most.  Also consider there are all kinds of lines and wires underneath.  Gooping it all up could causes issues if or when a repair is needed.
