Title: Our Phoenix pride is back.
Post by: dickreid1 on July 29, 2017, 12:58:27 pm
The vinyl covering on the seats as been a problem.  Our embarrassment over the appearance got to the point where we no longer invited anyone in or would allow admirers to "just take a peak inside".

When we visited the Phoenix plant recently the current situation was that they no longer use that material and everything needed to recovered.  Of the new materials we elected for a darker grey in leather with their new vinyl for the backs.  This was Monday.

By midday Thursday all of the recovered seats were back and installed.  We gasped at how much more attractive they were than the original seats.

How much?  I knew recovering was inevitable and the cost would be significant.  Kermit had recovered the drivers chair in 2015 and gave me new coverings for the two Eurochairs... at no charge. All were bad.  Surely the problems he and his provider have had with vinyl have been significant.  I believe they bent over backward to do the replacement at minimal cost.  I was delighted with the modest bill for all the excellent work to resolve the sizable worklist we presented them when we arrived.

I again feel great pride in our coach. Visitors are again welcome.

Did you have to motel it while the seats were being done?

How much did this cost?

Thanks

We had a three day stint in Elkhart for slide repairs way back when. We had a cat on board and had trouble finding a reasonably priced hotel that allowed pets. Many hotels were full with constitution workers staying long term in the area. Football season does a number on accommodations also.

We opted for a rustic cabin at Eby's Pines campground (no bathroom or kitchen.) We just took our necessary gear out of the rig. We weren't there much as we opted to tour the area while we waited but it was a nice campground with very friendly staff.

The red roof inn allowed animals... we had a 2 week stay there and it went well. We had our young yellow Lab and she was forever making 2 legged friends. Folks were good there.

I have used the Fairway inn.  Perhaps not as nice to look at as some but the animals were welcome and everyone I have dealt with there are really nice.  On their web site they have a coupon you can print out to get the room even cheaper - always a winner with me!
