I wanted some "reminders" for occasional use but didn't want to pay almost $20 at Camping World. I found some craft foam "slap bracelets" at Hobby Lobby for about $2 (I used a 40% off coupon). They come in a package of 12. I used a Sharpie to label them for our use.
I also use craft foam as drawer liners and to pad things that rattle. I've also used the sticky backed foam on such items as the "over the door" hooks.
I cut a piece in circles to pad the cup holders. I keep a sheet of it as a giant coaster on the counter top. I wouldn't use it to protect the Corian from heat. For that I use silicone ice cube trays ($1 at IKEA). Besides the obvious, ice cubes, they are also good for thawing frozen food too. You just can't beat multi-use products in small spaces.
