Title: Making a change...
Post by: Pax on May 12, 2017, 03:26:55 pm
Well, it didn't take but a couple of years with our new PC before family and friends created an overcrowding situation.  Who knew they would all love camping/RV'ing all of a sudden....yet not enough to buy their own rig!   (WH) Grandchildren also tend to shape our future, so we've decided to sell our beloved 2552 and get a Class A (with a bunkhouse floor plan) in the 34-36 ft range.

It's been a pleasure using our PC and learning from y'all! We'll probably still monitor/post here for a while.  We will also have Aimee post our PC for sale here on the forum next week in case you know anyone in the market for a nice used model.

All the best, and happy trails!  tymote

Mike,

Thanks for helping us decide on a PC and thanks for the helpful posts here in the forum. We hope you and you family enjoy the bigger rig.

Congrats on the purchase of your new coach Pax!  Our lives do change and we need to adapt to the changing times.   Enjoy those grand children and perhaps their memories of travel now will make them RV fans in the future.  What did you purchase?   Thanks, Ron G.

Well, we settled on a new 2017 Fleetwood Storm 36D.  It's a 36ft 'bunkhouse' floor plan on a Ford chassis and Ford Triton engine (3D walkthrough here: https://my.matterport.com/show/?m=5ALnTJFW17n)  We had looked at the comparable Thor and Winnebago units and found the Fleetwood fit/finish much better, and have only found three relatively minor issues with it.  So far I am pleased by how well it drives, but will be bringing it up to Hendersons Lineup in Grants Pass to have a Road Performance Assessment accomplished (and definitely a Safe-T-Plus steering stabilizer installed). Paid about 30% below MSRP for the motorhome and have already comfortably entertained 5 adults in it (and comfortably slept 4 adults and one child)

We advertised our PC on RVTrader and RVT (there was some mixup with Aimee so it was never advertised here on the forum) and we had about a dozen serious inquiries (half 'local' and half in other states) It sold in 10 days to the first couple who looked at it .
