Considering hardwiring the Progressive Industries surge protector/EMS in 2351. Wondering about location and difficulty of retro fitting. Many thanks.

You just disconnect wires going into the converter and hook the 3 wires from EMS to it and reconnect the wires that were going to the converter to the EMS input.
Run the phone wire to a convenient location where you can surface mount the read-out/override.
See if sketch helps.

2552 here, not 2351 but mine is hardwired. Came that way from the factory but does not seem to be a difficult project. Mine is located under the drawer of my rear dinette which would be under the driver's side bed on a standard 2552. It is installed just inside from the exterior shore power plug.
As Keelhauler notes, if retrofitting, it might be easier to wire it in just before the converter. Both would work depending on where you have space and access.

It's under the bed. About ten screws and the whole base of the bed comes off. Loads of room.
