After getting nowhere with Phoenix trying to get them to replace some bad leather on the adjustable lounges, I decided to look into some alternative repairs. Only the back of one of the seats was affected but because it was difficult getting an exact match, I decided to change the top half of the seats with cloth. Didn't turn out bad at all and lots cheaper.

I have the same problem of cracks in the vinyl. Did you seek out a company to recover the chairs or this a do-it-yourself project?
-
Not that I think it is the greatest idea to hand more money over to the company that gave you the problem in the first place, but.....
I wonder if Paul's Seating (http://paulsseating.net/) offers an affordable cloth-equivalent to your failed pleather. If they do, I would assume it would be a perfect fit as well as a perfect match. Who knows. If you are kind to them, maybe the company will be empathetic to your situation and offer a discount on the cloth skins. It would be nice if they sold you cloth skins at-cost. I think it's worth a phone call to them and ask to purchase cloth skins. Don't complain, just ask to purchase the cloth and see what happens. Maybe you'll be reporting back with good news for others here in the same predicament.

I had a local firm take care of it for me... As you can see from the picture, we opted to replace the tops of the 2 chairs only. It actually looks better in person.

Nice job Joey! We have talked about doing the same thing if we ever have a problem with ours

Glad you found a work-around. It's always there if you look hard enough.

We ordered our 3100 with cloth seating rather than leather by choice. Liked the feel of the cloth better.
