Title: Factory installed valve extenders
Post by: Badger on February 14, 2017, 04:59:21 pm
Has anyone had the factory replace the valve extenders on the dual wheels?  I have a 2015, 3100 & have had my share of grief with these.  Not a new problem with flexible extenders just wondering if anyone has found a reliable solution.

Badger,

Here is a link to what we did two years ago

We are very pleased with these.  They have held solid with no air leaks in the two years.

I replaced the the PC provided dually valves with Borg brand valves.  So far the Borg valves have performed excellent.  They allow easy pressure checks and adjustment of tire pressure to suit ambient temperatures.  Also they hold pressure without leakage.  I also have the TST tire pressure/temperature system that provides constant monitoring and alerts if either pressure or temperature goes outside programmed limits.

Tire Man valves are also a popular valve brand to replace the flexible style and other valve extensions.  Both Borg and Tire Man are one piece in that they do not require extensions.

I purchased the Borg valves online and had them installed at a local tire shop.  I did not ask Phoenix to replace the valves prior to delivery.  I do not know this but I assume the valved wheel/tires are supplied by the chassis supplier.  Kermit provided me the name of the extension supplier so I assume PC purchased and installed them.

On new units PC has gone away from the woven flexible extenders to solid metal extenders (per Earl)

Heres an option.  This is the go to guy on the west coast for solid valve stems.  Recommended by "Lazy Daze"!
Not sure who has been around longer, probably Lazy Daze.  People swear by them.
