After many months of research and visits to RV dealers and RV shows we pulled the trigger on a 2017 2910T, most of the available options with some extras that Earl was so kind to do for us. We are very excited to be joining the Phoenix Cruiser community. We will pick it up at the end of June and have a nice maiden voyage back to California. Hopefully will encounter other PC owners during our trip home and future camping trips.
Thank you to those of you that took the time to answer some of the previous questions I posted and most importantly those PC owners that offered to have us come see their motor home.

Congratulations!! Very exciting.

Congratulations :)(:
We will pick ours up sometime in March, the waiting is the hardest part.

Five months could seem like forever. So... to help pass the time... tell us what options you selected for your new 2910T.

Well good... waiting is difficult. We got the 2nd AC with heat.. have 50 amp so no shortfall on elec. No turning something off so something else can go on. Had a couple of extra elec plugs installed, and asked for a drivers side outside light. It should be in an area that is not a slide out. The switch is on the area by door with the others. It was expected to be somewhere up on the vehicle out of way and instead someone installed it against the bedroom window at the top. So I discovered this when we were looking at awnings to add and no way on earth now to have one on the bedroom window without some major re do. They needed instructions. So don't be afraid to tell them and ask specifics... later is too late. If you get SS sink that's big plus.. these white things can stain very easily. The shower needs to be installed taller than they do. It would be ok if your floor was not up near a foot off the floor. This means your on off handles are low like for a 5 year old. We got single handle faucets and love them. Shower install is prob ok on other models where the floor is not built up 2910 it is...Say something NOW while they are getting it all in order... The Sirius radio is useless when you are parked. So we paid all the $ for a radio that is not of use unless the motor is running. The way Kermit installs the ignition wiring you have no aux switch even.. Not a good arrangement .... Patricia, in Tampa

Congratulations and welcome to the PC club!!! Just spend the next 5 months planning out all the wonderful things you will do on that trip home.

Congratulations Dan!

Hopefully ours will be ready near the end of March. Can't wait!!!

Congratulations! We've only bought new once out of our four RV's; and it's a great feeling of accomplishment. Our PC was bought pre-owned, but we just got it a few weeks ago, so owning a "new" PC feels great. :)(:

Congrats and welcome aboard the PC board.

Again, congratulations.
I am curious Dan. Will your PC come with a round spare tire cover & tire, or that new squared-off rear storage compartment?
From what I have gathered, I think you will require 80psi in the 4 rear tires. I would inquire about Tire Pressure Sensors to monitor it, making sure 80 psi is maintained. The 2910T with three slideouts is the heaviest of PCs and so tire pressure is critical. It is most wise to monitor tire pressure, and TPS seems ideal for the task.

Congrats that is an awesome unit. Since it's a 2017 you should have the squared-off rear storage compartment and a different slide system. Do you know if overall weight was reduced for the 2017 2910T unit? Did you happen to see the yellow tag showing CCC on any in stock 2017 2910s?

Thank you for all your responses, very much appreciate it.
- No spare on the 2017's, hopefully I don't have to use my AAA with RV towing! Although I did once with my toy hauler, so it worth having.
- Our first trip will be from Indiana back to southern CA, so now we need to make plans for the route and where to stay along the way.
- We got every option except satellite and solar. Plus a few custom changes, did a hybrid on the interior material choices and counter tops, the exterior color is full body paint but not the standard choices they offer (this decision is a little scary but we thing it will look awesome), we eliminated the window and TV in the bedroom and added a third closet, eliminated all of the outside closet mirrors (will have just one mirror on the inside of one of the closet doors). added a small shelf at the head of the bed on each side for small items like a Kleenex box, cell phone and water bottle, added a number of extra plugs and they will be hooked to the inverter, couple extra exterior lights outside, a light on the inside of the rear storage compartment, the cabinets above the dinette, we will have three larger doors instead of the four smaller doors. Earl was so accommodating and helpful in making these changes.
Thank you all. I'll keep my eye out for other PC's cursing America!

When we travel we have found for overnight parking Wal-Marts work out best. They have security, we pick 24 hr supercenters, Handy to shop. Several people I met like Cracker Barrel and Big truck stops.
Of course if you are touring and see the country pick a nice National Forest/Park, State Park, they are located when all the scenic things are.
My suggestion for your trip is to utilize the Natchez Trace. A beautiful parkway the goes from near Nashville to Natchez, MS. It has 3 FREE National Park Campgrounds along the way. 50 mph, no stop signs, red lights or cross traffic. We love it.

Our 2017 PC was just delivered right before Christmas. Since we travel in remote places with no cell service Earl built it with the old style rear cap to accommodate a spare tire. So I think you can still decide whether you want a spare or more storage.

I think it would have been ideal if the PC rear spare tire compartment could convert to a storage compartment so we could leave the spare tire at home sometimes, and store two zero gravity chairs in there. Phoenix redesigned the rear wall, unfortunately without such flexibility, and from what I conclude from looking at internet pictures, the size of the new compartment still won't fit two zero gravity chairs.
Am I right about my thoughts?
To you with PCs that have that compartment instead of a spare tire, can you fit large zero gravity chairs inside it? If not zero gravity, can you fit other folding chairs inside? Do you think that a spare tire would fit inside it if you later wanted to carry a spare?
-
some of the shorter models you do have the option for the older cap and spare tire but not the longest models. it was part of what I had to weigh in whether to do the 2552 or the 3100.

Planning your trip, consider looking at the recreation.gov web site. It has all federal campgrounds...U.S Army Corps of Engineers (think lakes and rivers sites with plenty of room between campsites, BLM, federal parks, etc. Great prices for campgrounds and an opportunity to use your America the Beautiful card for discounts. If you don't have a American the Beautiful card considering getting one soon before the price goes up. Right now it is $10.00 for a lifetime and provides discounts for entry into federal recreation areas.
