It's set for Sept 11th thru Sept 15th in Sisters, Oregon (close to Bend)....at the Bend/Sisters Garden RV Park.

Bend is one of our favorite little cities, and Sisters is a cute little town with interesting shops, bars, restaurants.  In case I forget to recommend it when the date gets closer, we thoroughly enjoyed the High Desert Museum just south of Bend.

Oh, and the Sisters Folk Festival is Sept 8-10th!  Good reason to show up early.

Sisters also has the "Largest Outdoor Quilt Show".  But it is July.

Carrie and I are planning to attend the Rally, where do we get information on signing up?

The rally is being put on by the InterVec-Phoenix Travel Club (www.intervecphoenix.org). We joined the club and the newsletter contained the Registration Form. You can email them at: info@InterVecPhoenix.org.

I wrote a check for $440 for two people for five days. That includes full service campsite, a couple of dinners and breakfasts, and some prizes (I think). That's $88/day, about right for a rally, I think.

There is usually a full day bus tour included in that Rally price. In DC we did an all day and evening tour with stops to visit the Smithsonian Museums, get dinner, view memorials at night, etc. The driver narrated the tour and even the locals learned new things. In Colorado, it included the bus and admission to get to and go up Pike's Peak. I don't think I know the plan for this one.

Just a couple of other places to mention in the Bend and Sisters area....

Crux Fermentation Project (Bend):   If you are into beer, this is a must.
Cascade Alchemy (Bend):   Great little microdistillery.  Tastings and free mini-tour.
Restaurants (Bend):  Greg's Grill and Anthony's At The Old Mill are both great and located at the Old Mill shopping area on the river.
High Desert Museum (Bend):  Worth a second, and third mention.
Other Stuff (Bend):  Sunriver Resort, Cascade Lakes Highway, Mt. Bachelor, Tumalo Falls, Pilot Butte State Park, Tower Theater.

Sisters Movie House (Sisters):  Very unique, clean, reasonably priced gem.
Camp Sherman (15 miles from Sisters):  Hiking, biking, fishing along the beautiful Metolius River.
Art Galleries and Antique Shops (Sisters):  A number of nice shops just off Main.
Hardtails Bar and Grill (Sisters):  Full service, fun, great brews and food.
Nugget News (Sisters):  Local newspaper www.nuggetnews.com  Great local info, coupons, etc.

Left Bend today, wish we could have stayed for Rally but have a family event in Denver same time.
For anyone rving in Oregon please don't patronize Diamond Lake RV Park just north of Crater Lake NP.  Was there last night and had a horrible experience.  We moved our PC to face the opposite direction for our comfort and at 8am Phil the manager and soon new owner came banging on our door mad as hell about it even though neither he nor Mary had cautioned us and their rule was not in the 4 page handout.  Anyway Phil would have no discussion and told us to leave his park immediately.  He continued to harass us as we were preparing to leave and threatened to call the sheriff as we hurried to leave.  Apparently not the first time he's been really rude to his customers per online reviews.

If you can access RV Park Reviews website it would help a lot of people to post this there. Many seasoned RVers use RV Park Reviews as the first source of where to stay. You will be appreciated.  :)(:

Submitted, also Google, Goodsam, Trip Advisor, Yelp, and will dispute the $40 charge.  Thanks.

Please tell the folks at the rally that we (hopeful future PC owners) are lurking here, looking for great used PCs, especially 2551/2552s.  Have fun y'all!

Hi All,

Specifically when and where is the Phoenix Cruiser rally?  I am not familiar with the names of the places being discussed.

Is it an Intervec club rally?

Next time (hopefully never again) tell the jerk to call the sheriff.  You committed no crime, paid for your stsy, werr in your assigned spot and broke no rules. Ask the sheriff to cite thr owner for disturbance.

I was a cop for 26 years, and for civil disputes, the threat to call the cops is an empty threat.

Hi Ron,
Yes it is an Intervec Club rally. Dates are September 11 through 16.  Location is near Sisters, Oregon.  Which is east of the cascades in the Oregon high desert.  Lots to do in the area especially if you like volcanoes :)

Sisters is a small rural town that has made a name for it's annual outdoor quilt show.  Quite an amazing show with the entire town displaying quilts.  We will not be there for the quilt show but there are still lots of shops as well as all the natural sights to see.

Downside right now is we are in the midst of a really bad wildfire season and air quality is poor with lots of smoke.
